Stand Up to Cancer Viewing Parties a Big Success!

Stand Up to Cancer Gilda's Club was proud to support Stand Up To Cancer by hosting viewing parties in key cities - Palm Springs, Chicago, Quad Cities, Louisville, Grand Rapids, Rochester, Albany, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Dallas, Seattle. Near-capacity crowds filled the clubhouses to watch the inspiring and sometimes emotional broadcast. Following are a few of the many highlights of the events:
  • Local CBS, ABC and NBC stations supported the events with live remotes, viewing party footage and interviews.
  • Clubhouses teamed up with long-time partners including the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and the Van Andel Research Institute to maximize fundraising efforts and move cancer research forward.
  • In one clubhouse, staff members made an SU2C donation in honor of all the cancer survivors in attendance.
  • Politicians presented resolutions in appreciation of the social and emotional support provided by Gilda's Club affiliates to so many people living with cancer.
  • Clubhouse members took part in special activities including "Stand Up" quilt-making. The quilts will be presented to supporters later this month providing additional media exposure.
We look forward to continuing our partnership with SU2C!
